The Present.

Led with acoustic guitar and soaring, harmonious vocals, fuelled by a driving rhythm, 'The Present' are clearly different. With unique positive music, they captivate their audiences throughout the set and leave them feeling strangely wonderful.
The Present have been gigging since May 2004, delivering shining, memorable performances that appeal to a wide and varied audience throughout The Forest of Dean and spreading out to venues in Bristol, Cheltenham, Glastonbury, Gloucester, & Oxford. 2005 has started well for them, headlining at The BierKeller, Bristol & producing their first E.P. 'WELCOME'.

The first track 'SAY WHAT YOU MEAN' opens with a sonic guitar attack before the rhythm section kicks in to form a formidable strut. Bright vocals then demand your attention and by the time it reaches the chorus, it feels like being reunited with a long lost friend! Moving into the opening bars of the next track, 'HIGH ON HOPE', you are reminded of an arena-filled-guitar-god freaking out before a hypnotic bass and then the drums kick in to leave you believing something sinister is going to happen until the chorus delivers you to somewhere bright and euphoric!

Taking the tempo down a touch, 'DAY LIKE TODAY' is well structured and layered, showing a gentle side to the band which is fresh and bright without being over cluttered and once again showing an uncanny knack of getting a great hook which holds you to the very end.

Finally, if you could hear sunshine, it would sound like track four, 'I HEAR SUNSHINE', which bounces along like fresh air. The vocal interplay is second to none and the music leaves you unable to stop shaking your hips!
